Interesting facts:
- The Siamese crocodile got its name from the place of the first discovery of this species in Siam.
- Siamese crocodiles communicate with each other through sounds, postures, movement, touch, and smells.
- In captivity, a female was observed building an embankment nest, where, upon completion, she lays 20-50 eggs. She stays nearby for about 80 days and guards the nest until the babies hatch from the eggs. Then the female helps the crocodiles out of the nest and carries them into the water.
