- Life expectancy is 20 years in the wild and up to 30 years in captivity
- Their hand lacks a thumb, one of the most significant features of primates.
- They can change direction in flight and make jumps from 6-10 meters to tree branches.
- A newborn cub is often taken from its mother by other members of the group and can be nursed for a long time, carrying it to a distance of up to 25 meters.
- A mother can feed her own and someone else's baby at the same time.
