Meet Another New Resident of Almaty Zoo!

A one-year-old male raccoon named Raketa has arrived from Saint Petersburg and is now part of our zoo family.

Raccoons are often called “wash bears” because of their unusual habit of washing everything. They absolutely love this activity, especially when it comes to their food. Even if their meal was already found in water, they will still swish it around before eating.

Raketa is now on display—come visit him at Almaty Zoo!
